James (Jim) Greathouse

James Wendell (Jim) Greathouse, age 76, of LaHarpe, Kansas, passed away June 3, 2026, at the Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola, Kansas. Jim was born February 13, 1950, in Iola, Kansas, to Wendell (Wink) Greathouse and Mary Jane (Edwards) Greathouse.

Jim graduated in 1968 from Humboldt High School. He then attended Allen County Community College. Jim was a professional woodcutter.

Jim and Rosetta Shidler were married May 21, 1995, in Iola, Kansas. They made their home in LaHarpe.

Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising quail, chickens, and pheasants. He also enjoyed raising hunting dogs and domestic dogs. Jim loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Val Greathouse.

Jim is survived by his wife, Rosetta, of the home; children, David Wayne (Lauren) Greathouse, Melissa (Rick) Aiello, Amy (Nathan) Howell, Teresa Howell; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Greathouse Collins; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Cremation will take place and no services are planned at this time.
