Timothy Morgan, age 71, of Greeley, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at his home.
Tim was born on September 11, 1954, in Garnett, Kansas. He was the second of eight children born to Henry J. and Mary E. (Young) Morgan. Growing up, Tim poured his energy into 4-H and FFA; as an excellent showman who took great pride in his cattle, his hard work earned him a large collection of trophies. He always looked forward to the Lane, Richmond, and Garnett fairs. During high school, he discovered his lifelong passion: Ag Mechanics. He graduated from Garnett High School in 1972 and then attended Kansas State University, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. Following school, he started working as a welder and fabricator for local area businesses, including HUMCO and Components, and later Taylor Forge. He ultimately retired as an industrial radiologist from Taylor Forge after 25 years. In addition to his career, Tim faithfully assisted his dad on the family farm and eventually moved back to the "home place" in 2010. Tim was gifted with many practical skills, and his ability to fabricate almost anything led him to build and adapt various contraptions with winches to help him tackle his next big project. He continued working on his projects up until three weeks before his passing. He dearly loved his nieces and nephews, always staying genuinely interested in what they were up to, and he thoroughly enjoyed combing through farm auctions to add to his treasured collection of tools.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Morgan; his brother, Thomas Morgan; his nephew, James Morgan; and niece, Sara Hawthorne.
He is survived by two brothers and four sisters: Jim Morgan and wife Becky of Louisburg, Kansas; Dan Morgan of Manhattan, Kansas; Peg Hiles of Overland Park, Kansas; Sue Short and husband David of Midlothian, Texas; Ann Beck and husband Eric of San Diego, California; and Jan Owen and husband Jeff of Canyon Lake, Texas; 15 nieces and nephews, John Morgan, Abby Ricks, Andy Hiles, Jason Short, Matt and Emily Beck, Kyle, Kevin, and Kurt Morgan, Josh Owen, Jacqueline Edwards, Caitlin Morgan, Bethany Edmunds, and Jake Morgan; and eleven great-nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate Tim by wearing their favorite jeans and keep a casual theme, just the way Tim would want. Tim's family will greet friends from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Garnett, Kansas, with a graveside service following at 10:45 A.M. at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Greeley, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry and Mary Morgan Scholarship and left in care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
