Jean Marie Stover, age 80, of Williamsburg, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Richmond Healthcare and Rehab in Richmond, Kansas.

She was born November 2, 1945, in Ottawa, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph and Marie (Trompeter) Feuerborn. Jean attended Lingo one room schoolhouse in Garnett, Kansas. She graduated from Garnett High School in Garnett, Kansas, with the class of 1963. She graduated from the University of St. Mary's, Leavenworth, Kansas, where she earned a Nursing Diploma in 1966.

Jean was united in marriage to Ralph Stover on October 11, 1969 in Garnett, Kansas. They later divorced. From this union, two sons were born, Ralph Stover Jr and David Stover.

Jean began her nursing career at Anderson County Hospital, Garnett, Kansas. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, Emporia, Kansas. Providence Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas, and Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, Kansas. Jean was Nursing Supervisor and Director of Nursing while employed at RMH. She enjoyed working in the Emergency Room. After retiring from RMH in 2012, she volunteered in the Gift Shop at RMH until Covid-19 caused limited open hours.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Ottawa, Kansas and St. Patrick's Church Emerald, Kansas. Jean played the accordion and was fond of attending dinner theater shows. Jean enjoyed traveling with her sister Faye Rubick and close friends. Her travels include cruises to Alaska, Caribbean and Mexico. She also traveled to Ireland and Hawaii, among other destinations. She enjoyed most of all, her frequent travels to visit family in Florida, Illinois and Branson, Missouri. Jean collected angels, snowmen and carousel horses and displayed them throughout her home.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Marie Feuerborn; twin brother and sister Ray Feuerborn and Faye Rubick; and sister Janet Hill.

Surviving family includes two sons; Ralph Stover, Jr and wife Nancy of Williamsburg, Kansas, David Stover and wife Julianna of Williamsburg, Kansas, 6 grandchildren; Kevin Fowler and companion Tela of Ottawa, Kansas; Krysten Fowler Ottawa, Kansas; Cassie McCall of Topeka, Kansas; Harold McCall of Topeka Kansas, Sean Stover and companion Riley of Williamsburg and Ashley Stover, Williamsburg, Kansas; 8 great grandchildren; Chevy Fowler, Zoe Thornsbury, Scarlet Fowler, Ivory Fowler, Keegan Holdren, Bonnie McCall, Millie Tipolt, Hattie McCall and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Emerald, Kansas. Jean's family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Croix Hospice and left in the care of the funeral home. Condolences for the family may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
