Wanda C. Brooks

Wanda Carleen Brooks, age 70, of Iola, Kansas, passed away February 5, 2022, at her residence. Wanda was born March 12, 1951, in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Verne K. Ross and Leora (Bruner) Ross.

Wanda graduated in 1969 from Moran High School, Moran, Kansas. Wanda and Vaughn C. Brooks, Jr. were married January 24, 1994, in Iola, Kansas. Mr. Brooks passed away December 2, 1999.

Wanda worked at the Tyson Chicken Plant in Iola for many years.

Wanda will be missed by family and friends. Wanda was an only child.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn; her parents; and step-daughter, Tish Reynolds.

Wanda is survived by her Aunt Wilma; maternal Aunt Venita Miller, Kincaid, Kansas; cousins, Leon and Billie Jean Ward; her little brother, Heath (Rachel) Feuerborn; step-children, Roxanne Essex, Wichita, Kansas, Teresa Brooks, Iola, Kansas, Ryan Brooks, Topeka, Kansas; step-grandchildren, Terrell Smith, Iola, Kansas, Damon Brooks, Orlando, Florida, Kris and Alana Harding, Chanute, Kansas, Desirea and Isiah Essex, Emporia, Kansas, Brandy Brooks, Wichita, Kansas, and Lori, Derek, Melissa, Brian Gregory; twenty great step-children; and four great, great step-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Mildred, Kansas.
