Terry Lee Johnson

Terry Johnson, age 63, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Iola, Kansas.

Terry Lee Johnson was born on November 10, 1962 in Iola. He was the second of three children born to Ralph Johnson and Judy (Peres) Johnson. A lifelong resident of Iola, Terry was a gifted mechanic who was known for his ability to figure out and fix just about anything. Over the years, he worked at the Iola Honda motorcycle shop, Wichman Ford, and Twin Motors Ford. He later worked at S&S Automotive in Gas, Kansas, and was a dedicated member of the team at Quality Auto in Gas since April 2013.

In his younger years, Terry was a competitive Honda dirt bike racer, and he had many trophies to show from his efforts on the track. His passion for cars and motorcycles continued throughout his life; he loved riding his Harley, building race cars in his free time, and showcasing his 1956 Chevy Bel-Air at area car shows. Terry was a man of many talents who could turn any vision into a reality, most notably when he remodeled his and Nina's home. When he wasn't working on a project, he enjoyed bass fishing in local ponds and quarries and spending time at the grill. His famous grilled chicken was a staple at family gatherings and will be deeply missed.

On September 29, 2013, Terry was united in marriage to Nina Coultas in Yates Center, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by one grandson.

Terry is survived by his wife, Nina, of the home; his children, Darick Johnson, Shayne Johnson, Nicole Burton and husband Nate, Josh Mann, Dan Mann, and Jake Mann; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his parents, Ralph and Judy Johnson; one brother, Stanley Johnson and wife Deidra; one sister, Sharon Medford and husband Damon; and many friends and colleagues in the automotive community.

Services for Terry will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery in Iola.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday evening, April 20, 2026, at The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola, Kansas.
