Steven Joseph Kipp, age 65, of Iola, Kansas, passed away unexpectly June 10, 2026, at his residence. Steven was born October 13th, 1960, in Iola, Kansas, to Anthony Kipp and Catherine Geraldine (Drain) Kipp. As a proud lifelong Kansan and an advocate of education and self-improvement for all, Steven graduated from Iola High School in 1979, received an Associate's degree at Allen County Community College in 1981, and earned a Bachelor's of Agriculture Education in 1983 that was followed by a Master's of Agriculture Economics in 1985. He was a part of the Kansas State Alumni Association and an avid fan of the Kansas State Wildcats. Steven was active in high school band, FFA, and participated in high school track. He was a pitcher for little league and junior league baseball teams. He was active in 4-H showing pigs and steers and earned a Grand Champion steer during his 4-H career.

Steven dedicated his life's work to the earth as a passionate farmer and rancher. He was a steward of nature. He was an avid outdoorsman who took immense pride in conserving the land and wildlife of Kansas, while always standing as a steadfast supporter of his fellow farming and ranching community by helping when cattle broke loose, lending a hand during equipment breakdowns, and supporting others during the planting and harvest seasons.

Buoyed with his faith in Christ and guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, his dedication to service was further reflected in his active involvement with the St. John's Catholic Church of Iola, Kansas, by serving with the St. John Catholic Church Parish Council Committee and as a former Grand Knight and a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus of the Iola Chapter. He served as an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 55 of the Quivira Council of Boy Scouts of America, where he proudly witnessed both of his sons achieve Eagle Scout.

For all those who knew him, Steven radiated an infectious joy. He was a selfless, jovial, and exceptionally kind individual who could light up any room with a quick witticism, a perfectly timed joke, or a captivating story. He was a rock for those he loved by actively responding to any crisis with an optimistic and resilient mindset and the loudest to celebrate the successes of his family and friends. His support, love, and devotion for his wife, sons, and other family and friends was incomparable.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Kipp of Iola, Kansas; his first son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Angela Kipp of Hickory Creek, Texas; and his second son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Andie Kipp of McAllen, Texas. He also leaves behind his sisters and their families: Mary and Mike Oberg of Loveland, Colorado; Joan and Dale Jr. LaRue of Moran, Kansas; Patty and Dave (deceased) Shryock of Tucson, Arizona; Nancy and Larry Prohaska of Atchison, Kansas; and sister-in-law Gail Kipp of Lawrence, Kansas. Gone before him marked with the sign of faith are his father and mother, Tony and Geraldine Kipp, and brother, Gerald Kipp.
