Shirley Hicks, 87, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025.
After graduating from La Harpe High School, Shirley spent most of her life in the La Harpe, Kansas area. She helped on the family farm and worked at Gates Rubber Company until her retirement.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; daughter, Beverly Arbuckle; and son, Joe, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Jon Hicks (Angie) of Moran; and daughter, Mona Spurlock (Joe) of De Soto, Kansas. Additionally, she is survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Shirley will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF), and may be left in the care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.
