Sandy "Samm" Mintz

Sandra Kay (Samm) Mintz, age 67, Humboldt, Kansas, passed away on May 9, 2026, at Diversicare of Chanute, Chanute, Kansas. Sandy was born June 20, 1958, in Iola, Kansas, to Bernard Myer and Jean (Hendrix) Myer.

Sandy and Craig Mintz were married June 26, 1976, in Humboldt, Kansas. Sandy worked as a secretary for 36 years for the Humboldt School District, from 1981 to 2017.

Sandy liked to collect snow babies, garden, walk, and enjoyed the outdoors. She loved to attend and watch her kids and grandkids play sports. She was a scorekeeper for Humboldt softball, baseball, and volleyball. Sandy enjoyed stockcar races and all the friends she met at the races. Sandy and Craig sold fireworks for Jake's Fireworks in Humboldt and Iola for 25 years.

Sandy will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile and outgoing personality. She never knew a stranger.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Craig, of the home; two sons, Justin (Virginia) Mintz, Ryan (Kelli) Mintz; three grandsons, Spencer Mintz, Hunter Mintz, Nathan Mintz; sister, Rhonda (Jerry) Naff; two brothers, Terry (Julie) Myer, Mike Myer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service to honor Sandy's life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
