Ronald Young

March 3, 1950 — January 19, 2026

Ronald Glenn Young, often known as Ronnie to his friends, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026.
Ron was born in Ottawa, Kansas, on March 3, 1950, and lived in the Garnett area most of his life. He graduated from Garnett High School in 1968.
Ron spent years working on various construction jobs, which took him across the country and the world. He also worked as an EMT-I, did search and rescue both with bloodhounds and as a scuba diver, and was generally known as a friendly and helpful person to those who encountered him.
Ron dearly loved his hometown and always spoke fondly about his antics growing up there and his many friends. He often told us about the races that were held in Garnett, and about a huge catfish that lived in the lake. He claimed he was able to pet a particular catfish every time he went diving there.
He loved to ride motorcycles, fix up cars, and was a proud member of the American Legion Post 156 out of Paola, Kansas.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Anne and Vernon Young. His father passed away when Ron was just a teen, exactly 61 years to the day before Ron. He was also preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Edith and Pete Parker.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy Anderson (Gayle) of Topeka, and two nieces and a nephew.

There are no services planned at this time, with a later date private family inurnment at Garnett Cemetery. Condolences for the family can be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
