Ronald "Ronnie" Larry Sigg, 72, of Galesburg, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Ronnie was born on April 11, 1954, in Iola, Kansas, to Victor H. and Nellie M. (Allen) Sigg. He was born and raised in Iola. Ronnie graduated with the class of 1972, from Iola Highschool. Following high school he worked in the Iola area, before later in life moving to Bentonville, Arkansas, and Parsons, Kansas. He spent much of his working life doing automotive bodywork at Sigg Motors, in Iola, Kansas, where he grew up learning the trade and developed the ability to fix just about anything.
Ronnie was a hard worker who rarely sat still. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes, and was a proud Kansas City Chiefs fan. Known for his ornery personality, stubbornness, and quick wit, Ronnie never knew a stranger and always had something to say.
Family was important to Ronnie. One of fourteen siblings, he worked to keep family close and made a habit of calling his list of people every morning. He loved being a father, but being a grandfather was his greatest blessing. His grandchildren knew him as Papa Ronnie.
Ronnie will be remembered for his hard work, his humor, and the love he had for his family.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Georgia Sigg; five children, Chad and wife Vernonica Sigg, Courtney Sigg, JR and wife Suzie Allen, Kia and husband Junior Logan, Brandon Love and partner Kyra Mason; fourteen grandchildren, Brecken, Madison, Addison, Carter, Tanner, Briar, Alyssa, Shaun, Travon, Kal, Zane, Gianna, Birdie, and Braelyn; Two Great-Granddaughters; six brothers, Herb, Johnny, Vic, Danny, Jerry, and Stevie; two sisters, Elsie and Patty; his four legged best friend Bitty, who had been by his side for almost 18 years; he will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Victor and Nellie Sigg; two sisters, Mary and Helen; and three brothers, Don, Paul, and David.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM where family will greet family and friends. Ronnie will be laid to rest at a later date in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, in Gas, Kansas.
Memorials in Ronnie's honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research hospital, and left in the care of the funeral home.
