Robert Schwepker

July 1, 1941 — January 7, 2026

Robert "Bob" Schwepker, 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at his care facility in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

He was born on July 1, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Herman August Schwepker and Irma Rose Schwepker (née Golde). Bob was a 1959 graduate of Cape Central High School. He then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1959 and serving until 1963. On April 7, 1963, Bob married Patricia "Pat" Ellen McIntosh in Fulton, Kansas. Together they built a life grounded in faith, commitment, and devotion to family. They were first blessed with a son, Anthony Robert, who died at birth. In 1966, they welcomed their second son, Jeff. With open hearts, Bob and Pat expanded their family through adoption, welcoming Eric, Julie, Emily, Tasha, and Thad. Their home was lively and full, shaped by love, responsibility, and the shared work of raising a large family. Bob and Patricia lived in Kansas until 1984, when they returned to Bob's hometown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with their family of eight. Cape Girardeau remained home for the rest of Bob's life. Bob spent much of his professional career with Xerox and FedEx, working as a manager in the transportation industry for 16 years before retiring in 1995 to care for Pat. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and leadership. A man of faith, Bob was Catholic and valued community and connection, volunteering weekly at St. Francis Hospital Chapel for the perpetual adoration. He enjoyed music (particularly Elvis and guitars) and was a member of the Rural Route 5 band in Kansas. Later in life, Bob (aka the Senior Note) played guitar and sang weekly at local nursing homes. Above all else, however, Bob's greatest pride was his family.

Bob is survived by his children: Jeff Schwepker, Eric Schwepker, Julie Schwepker, Emily Mathews, Tasha Schwepker-Friend, and Thad Schwepker; 15 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary (Larry) Dannemueller of Oran, Missouri, and Bonnie (Robert) Rubel of Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Patricia; his infant son, Anthony Robert, and his sisters Joanne (Ralph) Hinkebein and Emma Nichols.

Memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Garnett, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery.
