Robert "Mike" Geffert

Robert "Mike" Geffert of Iola, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Mike was born to Frederick F. and Miriam R. (Dunkleberger) Geffert on April 27, 1953, in Iola, Kansas.

Mike attended Prairie Dell grade school and graduated in 1971 from Humboldt High School. Mike was a rancher and farmer his entire life.

Mike and Barbara O'Malley were married May 7, 1976, in Westphalia, Kansas.

Mike served on the Allen County Soil Conservation Board, Piqua Coop Board, and Rural Water District Board. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Iola, Kansas.

Mike enjoyed traveling, model trains, running his track hoe, and monitoring the neighborhood farming.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant brothers.

Mike is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; children, Kimberly Geffert, Shawn (Kylee) Geffert; grandchildren, Wade Geffert, Hayes Geffert; sister, Kathleen Jefferis; his cat, Bobo; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, Kansas.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Mike Geffert Memorial Agriculture Scholarship, and these can be left in care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
