Phyllis Carpenter, age 89, of Richmond, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at her home.
Phyllis Jane (Fast) Carpenter, was born on August 12, 1936, at home in Barton City, Missouri, to Paul Cruiser Fast and Jane Alta (Gilmartin) Fast.

She trusted in Jesus at an early age and was baptized in the creek at Rocky Ford on their home place.
Phyllis was full of love and laughter and wanted everyone to enter with a happy heart. But you can't truly have a happy heart without Jesus in it. So she wanted everyone to know Jesus.
She taught her children that God is our Best Friend and that we can trust Him. She also taught them to read His Word, trust it, follow it, and be a faithful steward.
Phyllis enjoyed playing the piano, writing poetry, reading, and lighthouses. She worked at King Radio and Alco, but she especially enjoyed being the Activities Director at Oak Haven Nursing Home .
She was a stay-at-home mom for most of her life; being a mother was one of her greatest joys.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Dean Carpenter; her daughter, Kathryn Ashburn; her two sons-in-law, Ted Ashburn and Donnie Beddo; her parents; and three brothers and three sisters.
