Peggy M. Gilliland

Peggy Marie Gilliland, age 93, of Iola, Kansas, passed away April 24, 2022, at the Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola, Kansas. Peggy was born January 19, 1929, Sun City, Kansas, to Jess Farris and Pearl (Boling) Farris.

Peggy received her GED in 1971. She and Roy Gilliland were married July 9, 1945, in California. Peggy was a supervisor for K-Mart Distribution Center in Lawrence, Kansas.

Peggy loved to craft and she had a special skill of painting pictures on wood. Peggy enjoyed going to second-hand stores and shopping. She was an avid photographer, taking photographs of wildlife, trees, flowers, and rural settings. She loved spending time with her family and grandkids.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; parents; and son, Richard Gilliland.

Peggy is survived by daughter, Marsha (Kenneth) Storrer, Iola, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Rhoda Gilliland, Iola, Kansas; grandchildren, Michelle (Gary) White, Rob (Sabrena) Stalnaker, Chuck (Tina) Gilliland, Jennifer (Mike) Phillips, Angie (Brent) Luedke, Troy (Lisa) Smith, Becky (Jim) Settles, Jeff (Diana) Storrer; twenty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service to honor Peggy's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022, in the Geneva Cemetery, Colony, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF), and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
