Bubbie Waggoner, age 5, of La Harpe, Kansas, passed away at his home, surrounded by the people who loved him. He was born on May 19, 2020, in Chanute, Kansas, and from the very beginning he filled every day with joy, silliness, and warmth.
Bubbie loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed messing with his Grandpa Marc's glasses, and he and his close brother, Bubba, had their own word for girls, "girfs." He liked playing with hair, holding toys and phones up to his ear, and he was often seen with baby wipes or toys sitting right on top of his head. If Mom tried to change him, it took only a moment before a wipe was back on his head again.
He communicated with sweet little movements, especially his well-known shake of the head for "no." He shared a special bond with his brother, Bubba, whom he lovingly called "Bubba." The boys were so full of fun and personality that nurses would playfully compete for turns to hold them.
Bubbie was cared for by "Papa," "Mom," "Aunt Mimi," and "Dada." He especially lit up when Papa came home from work. Even though Papa could be quiet, Bubbie always knew when he walked in the door, and he would wiggle with excitement, waiting to be picked up.
Paw Patrol was his favorite show, and Chase was his favorite pup. Baby Bum was his favorite toy. He loved fire trucks, especially because Papa and Dada serve on the La Harpe Volunteer Fire Department. Bubbie never met a stranger, and everyone who spent even a moment with him adored him.
Bubbie is reunited with his brother, Bubba Waggoner, his great-grandfather, Jerry Trester, his great-grandmother, Elizabeth Waggoner, and his great-great-grandparents, Bert and Maxine Trester.
Bubbie is survived by his father, Marc Waggoner Jr.; Mom and Papa, Pamela and Marc Waggoner Sr.; Grandmother, Janice Trester; Uncle and Brother, Mathew Waggoner; Uncle and Brother, Michael Waggoner; Sisters, Meghan Sparks and Porscha Waggoner; close family members, John and Tammy Harris, and Ted and Tina Bresee; he will be cherished by many cousins and anyone who got the chance to meet him.
Although his time here was short, Bubbie filled the world around him with happiness and love. His bright smile, his silly spirit, and his gentle heart will forever be treasured by all who knew him.
The family will plan a private service at a later date. Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities and left in the care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Condolences for the family may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
