Odell Pulley

Odell Phill Carnel Pulley, age 78, of Iola, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2025, in Iola.

Odell was born on March 29, 1947, and was a lifelong resident of Iola, Kansas. He attended the Methodist Church of Iola in his younger years, and as an adult became a dedicated member of Poplar Grove Church in Humboldt, Kansas, where he faithfully served as a deacon. His faith and service were a guiding part of his life.

Odell worked as a route truck driver for Monarch and was also proud to serve as an auxiliary policeman in Iola, a role he loved and valued deeply. Beyond his work, he gave generously of his time to the community, coaching countless Iola children in soccer and offering help to anyone in need. Odell was known for his kind heart, willingness to lend a hand, and the joy he found in supporting others.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Pulley and her partner, Dr. Tanya Jantz; his son, Cornell Pulley and wife, Heather Pulley; his grandson, Travail and wife, Christa Pulley; his sister, Nancy Rice; his brother, James Pulley; and many nieces and nephews.

Odell was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Janet Pulley; six brothers, Kenneth Pulley, Gerald Pulley, Clarence Washington, Tony Pulley, Donald Pulley, and Pete Pulley; and three sisters, Mary Katherine Pulley, Berna Dean Coleman, and Barbara Ricks.

Memorial services for Odell will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas.
