Marty Meadows

Marty L. Meadows, age 73, of Iola, Kansas, passed away September 14, 2022, at Medicalodges, Iola, Kansas. Marty was born November 22, 1948, in Chanute, Kansas, to Albert Piatt and Virginia (Miller) Piatt.

Marty graduated in 1966 from Arkansas City High School. She was a controller for Walmart, Iola, Kansas, for 16 years, retiring in 2006.

Marty and David R. Meadows were married February 14, 1987, in Iola, Kansas.

Marty enjoyed Girl Scouts, where she was a scout leader for multiple generations. She liked to sing in the church choir, help with church dinners, and just about anything involving her church. Marty was a grandma to everyone and loved to spoil them. She was known to name her cows after family members.

Marty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Piatt; and son, David Meadows, Jr.

Marty is survived by husband, David, of the home; daughters, Theresa (Kelly) Lowe, Augusta, Kansas, Jennifer (Greg) Elting, Aurora, Colorado, Stormy Meadows, Sacramento, California, Wendy Erbert, Iola, Kansas; grandchildren, Krystin, Ashlee, Jesse, Drew, Ryan, Ethan, Donovan, Dalton, Jocelyn, Kylie, Kameron; great-grandchildren, Bowen, Bearett, Thunder; sisters, Marilyn Cain, Kathy (Tom) Hummingbird; brother, Rodney (Pam) Piatt; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation to honor Marty's life will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2022, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Iola, Kansas. Burial will follow in Gas Cemetery, Gas, Kansas.
