Margaret White

Margaret Jane White, age 91, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away October 26, 2024, at her residence. She was born January 16, 1933, in Harrison, Arkansas, to Jesse Lee Smiley and Mary Jane (Dixon) Smiley.

Margaret graduated in 1951 from North High School in Wichita, Kansas. She and Merton M. White were married May 1, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas.

Margaret and Merton lived in Lone Elm for twenty-eight years, where she did furniture upholstery. They moved to Humboldt, where she lived for thirty-two years. Margaret was a member of the Humboldt First Baptist Church. She was actively involved in mission work and ABW.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter; six brothers; and step-granddaughter.

Margaret is survived by three children, Mark (Janell) White, Merle (Carolyn) White, Mary (Steve) Deal; niece, Frankie Chapman; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, Humboldt, Kansas. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Humboldt First Baptist Church, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.
