Margaret A. Jackman

Margaret Ann Jackman, age 70, of Elsmore, Kansas, passed away December 26, 2022, at the Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola, Kansas. Margaret was born March 27, 1952, in Iola, Kansas, to Willie Smith and Betty (Shepherd) Smith.

Margaret attended school in Stark, Kansas, and graduated in 1970 from Erie High School, Erie, Kansas. Margaret and Danny Jackman were married December 26, 1970, in Uniontown, Kansas.

Margaret drove a school bus for Marmaton Valley Schools for 24 years, retiring in 2018. She and Dan served as caretakers of the Welda Lake and camp hosts at Parsons City Lake for four years.

She enjoyed crafts, painting, sewing, and performing with her sisters as the Three M Sisters. Margaret was known for her kindness, sense of humor, and love for her bus kids. She was an excellent cook and she liked canning and preserving.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; and niece, Tammy Wallis.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Danny, of the home; son, Jay (Sara) Jackman, Savonburg, Kansas; sisters, Cheryl (Jerry) Wallis, Nancy (Lloyd) Houk, Moran, Kansas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Savonburg, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF), which may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
