Marcus Chaney Miller, age 30, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away June 14, 2026, from an airplane crash near Butler, Missouri. Marcus was born July 23, 1995, in Ft. Scott, Kansas, to David (Duke) Miller and Janet (Herrmann) Miller.

Marcus graduated in 2013 from Marmaton Valley High School, Moran, Kansas, where he excelled in track and cross-country.

Marcus served his country in the Kansas National Guard. He worked for Taylor Forge, where he obtained training and the opportunity to become a union pipefitter. He was a member of US Engineering, Local 441. Marcus was currently a pipefitter foreman.

Marcus loved to skydive! He considered himself an average video gamer. Marcus enjoyed traveling. He was goofy and funny - he liked to make people laugh.

Marcus was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard and Sharon Herrmann; paternal grandparents, Dale and Midge McVey; aunt, Terri Walker; and uncle, Rick Miller.

Marcus is survived by his parents, David "Duke" (Sherry) Miller, Janet Miller; brothers, Zachary (Allie) George, Derek George; uncles, Shawn (Debbie David) Herrmann, Brandon "Mo" (Jenny) Herrmann; niece, Samantha George; nephews, Hoyt George, Holden George, Heston George due to arrive July 6, 2026; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A funeral service to honor Marcus' life will be on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas. Burial with military honors will follow in the Kincaid Cemetery, Kincaid, Kansas.

The family suggests memorials to Wings of Warriors or Feed The Children, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
