Lorraine Ysusi

Lorenza "Lorraine" Ysusi, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Humboldt, Kansas, on January 17, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Lorraine was born on November 30, 1935, in Emporia, Kansas, and was raised by her godparents, Jesus and Francisca Mendoza. She spent her childhood growing up in Roper and Fredonia, Kansas, where, as a teenager, she met her future husband.

Lorraine married Trine Ysusi on February 19, 1955, in Fredonia. They stayed in the area for a few years, before moving to Humboldt, and raising their three children.

Lorraine enjoyed bowling and collecting dolls, as well as volunteering for church activities. She was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was always happy to lend a hand, whether it was cleaning up around the building or cooking for meals. Lorraine loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, and relaxing on the deck with her husband. She loved to laugh, and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her godparents; biological parents, Augustine Espinosa and Catherine Diaz; and grandson, Joshua Baughn.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, of the home; children, Cathy (J.D.) Baughn, Albert (Virginia) Ysusi, Michael Ysusi; and numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation for Lorraine from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Services, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Humboldt followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial service.
