Katie Keim

Katie Esther Keim, age 54, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 23, 2026, surrounded by her family. Katie fought a courageous cancer battle. .

She was born on June 23, 1971, to Floyd and Lorene (Yoder) Keim, the oldest of 11 children.

Katie grew up on the family dairy farm. Life consisted of milking cows, feeding calves, field work; haying being her favorite. She loved gardening, flowers and baking. Katie was always tender in her care for her siblings. From a young age, she carried a tender conscience, desiring to do what is right.

In her teens, Katie began responding to God. She answered God's call to the ministry, to which she entered at age 31. She held a fervent love for souls, whole-heartedly laboring in Kansas, Colorado, Utah and Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Katie traveled to various other states for special meetings and conventions which enlarged her heart.

In her spare time, Katie found pleasure in hiking, fishing, crocheting, playing Scrabble, Bananagrams, and spending time with family and friends.

Katie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Abe and Katie Yoder; paternal grandparents, Menno and Esther Keim; and infant brother, Joseph Leon Keim.

She is survived by her parents, Floyd and Lorene Keim; one brother, Mahlon and Teresa Keim; sisters, Naomi Keim; Verna and Jerry Schrock; Frieda and Joe Borntreger; Ruby and Scott Christian; Mary and Christopher West; Lena and Dale Bontrager; Treva and Nolan McConnell; and Sarah Keim; 30 nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews.

We are deeply grateful to the many family and friends who stood by, supporting Katie during her health journey. A special thank you to her Hospice nurses for their kind care.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Ray Meyer Gymnasium, Garnett, Kansas. Katie's family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. Friday, May 29, 2026, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett. Burial will take place at Central City Cemetery following the service.
