John H. Kerr, age 57, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at his home.
He was born on August 7, 1968, to Glenn and Linda (Hosier) Kerr, in Lawrence, Kansas. John was the oldest of 5 children.
John graduated from Lawrence High School with the Class of 1986. Following high school, he enlisted in the Army Reserves from 1986 until 1994. He married Annette Pacha in 2002, whom he loved very much and had one son, Alexander. He has worked at Hallmark Cards in Lawrence for around 35 years.
John loved playing baseball growing up. He started playing at DCABA at the fairgrounds in Lawrence, then he started playing at Holcom Sports Complex. In 1986, his last year to play, he was picked to play on a team made up of Lawrence/Spring Hill players. They won the state championship. John helped coach his youngest brother's team for one year.
John was an avid fan of the Royals and the Chiefs. He also liked car racing. He got to drive his son Alexander and his parents around the track at Kansas City Speedway but was not allowed to drive as fast as the race car drivers drove.
For his 31st birthday, he parachuted out of an airplane. He did not tell his parents until afterward.
Music was also a huge part of his life. He loved collecting Rock 'n' Roll memorabilia and attending lots of the rock concerts. John's favorite band of all time was KISS, and he proudly considered himself one of their biggest lifelong fans. He and his son have been to several of their concerts and other 70's rock bands. When they took a road trip you know somewhere there was a stop for a concert.
John was preceded in death by his baby brother, Wesley; grandparents, Harland and Lillian Kerr; Claron and Mary Hosier; and his father, Glenn Kerr.
He is survived by his son, Alexander, of the home; his mother, Linda of Parker, Kansas; sister, Brenda of Florida; brother, Kevin (Jen) of Lawrence, Kansas; brother, Brett of California; one nephew, five nieces, two great nephews and one great niece; uncles, aunts, and many cousins.
He was a beloved father, brother, son and uncle. May his life be cherished for what he gave to everyone.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Parker Cemetery.
