Hazel Stringham

Hazel Stringham, age 48, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at her home.

She was born on December 3, 1975, in Adak, Alaska, the daughter of Larry and Mary (Richardson) Gifford.

Hazel attended school in Fort Mead, Maryland and Edzell, Scotland, before graduating from Anderson County High School in Garnett. After high school, she attended Pittsburg State University. With her caring spirit, she had a passion for working with those in need at Golden Heights in Garnett, Lakemary in Paola, as well as the Garnett Library.

Hazel gave birth to her most prized possession, her son, Dylan. She was proud of the young man he became.

Hazel was forever grateful for her wife, Carolyn, who took great care of her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry L. Gifford on January 6, 2015; and her wife, Carolyn Nuckles on August 10, 2023.

Hazel is survived by her son, Dylan Stringham; her mother, Mary Gifford; and her brother, Andrew Gifford.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas.
