Goldie Marie Ferguson Willis, 99, formerly of Kincaid, Kansas, passed away December 17, 2007 at Golden Heights Living Center in Garnett, Kansas. She was the eldest daughter of Victor D. and Della M. (Phillips) Ferguson, born June 18, 1908 at Tecumseh, Oklahoma Territory. Goldie grew up in Texas and Oklahoma where her father worked in the oil fields. She married Charles Parkhurst, this union was blessed with one son, Donald L. Parkhurst. Charles preceded her in death. She moved to Kansas in the early 1930s. On October 14, 1933 she married Homer G. Willis at Selma, Kansas. This union was blessed with one son, John Eldon Willis. Goldie and Homer farmed in the Kincaid area until retiring in the late 1960s, when they moved to Garnett, Kansas. Goldie moved to the Golden Heights Living Center in May of 2000, where she received loving care from her Golden Heights Family. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Eva Cordelia Blackstone, and a brother, Everett Hiram Ferguson; her first husband, Charles; son, John Willis (May 30, 1957); and her second husband, Homer (June 6, 1993). She is survived by her son, Donald and Evelyn Parkhurst of Longmont, CO. Four grandchildren and their families; grandsons, Larry E. and Candy Parkhurst of Boulder, CO, and Steven L. and Ricka Parkhurst of Gardner, KS; granddaughters, Karen D. and Michael Jones of Oak Harbor, WA, and Nancy A. and Cory Izett of Whitefish, MT; three great grandchildren, Katherine Jones, Justin Izett and Scott Izett. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett, Kansas, burial will follow in the Blue Mound Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:30 until the time of service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Golden Heights Living Center.
