Glenn Eldon Smith, age 93, of Bel Aire, Kansas, formerly Bronson, Kansas passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 surrounded by family. His joking nature and orneriness will be greatly missed.
Glenn was born on November 10, 1932 in Iola, Kansas to Raymond and Cora (Duzan) Smith, Glenn grew up on his family farm in Bronson, KS. Glenn served 2 years in the Army (1957-59), took over the family farm and married Retta R. Fisher of Hammond, Kansas on March 5, 1961.
Glenn was actively involved in the Moran United Methodist Church, Bronson Ruritan, Bronson Eastern Star and Bronson/Devin Masonic Lodges, holding various offices in each. Glenn's greatest love was being a mason and went to meetings in nearby towns during his 70 year membership. Glenn was also involved with the Bronson Rural Water and Bronson Rural Housing.
Glenn always loved a good joke and enjoyed playing tricks on others. He loved ice cream, pie and generally anything sweet.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James (infant) and Roy, wife Retta and daughter Arlene Garrison.
Glenn is survived by daughters Joyce Smith (Lynn Huffstetler) and Tricia (Chris) Knoll, son-in law Glen Garrison, brother-in-law Vern (Karen) Fisher, granddaughters Cheyenne and Montana Garrison and Lola Knoll along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 on February 6, 2026, at the Moran United Methodist Church with a private family burial at Bronson Cemetery. Glenn's family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on February 5, 2026, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Moran United Methodist Church and sent in care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
