Gary Dewayne Tidd, 71, of Piqua, Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at St. Luke's East Hospital. Gary was born to Richard and Opal Tidd and grew up in Neosho Falls. He married Julia Christian on February 28, 1975, and together had 3 children before later divorcing. Gary purchased a farm in Piqua, where he later built the family home with his own hands and continued to live there throughout his life. Gary spent his life dedicated to family, hard work, and working with his hands. A lifelong farmer at heart, Gary loved being outdoors-whether farming, fishing, camping, or spending time at the lake with his children when they were younger. More than anything, Gary loved sharing his many talents, skills, and knowledge with his children and grandchildren. He had a heart that could fill any room and fiercely loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Gary's home was always open to others, whether it was friends of his children or hired hands helping in the hay field. He made everyone feel welcome and treated many like family. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Opal Tidd, and his sisters Betty
Robinson and Mary Braton. Gary is survived by his children, daughter Tracy Tidd and partner John Cox, her children River and Reyce Delatorre; son Gary Dewayne Tidd Jr. and Angie (Strawder), and their children Logan Tidd and wife Sierra and their children Hayes and Baylor Tidd, Keagon Strawder, Mylin Tidd, Kya Strawder, Bektin Tidd, and Mavrik Strawder; and son Chris and Tiffanie Tidd, their two sons, Harley and Huck Tidd, all of the Home. He is also survived by his younger brother Richard Dewayne Tidd and wife Darcy, and their children Cash and Ada of Monument, Colorado, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and unofficial stepchildren. Gary also shared a special bond with his nephew, Jason Tarter, and cousin, Danny Christenson.
