Fred K. Church, age 78, of Iola, Kansas, passed away on June 7, 2026, in the comfort of his own home.
Fred was born on November 16, 1947, to Thomas Andrew Church and Mary Loraine (Hester) Church, in Iola, Kansas.
Fred attended Pittsburg State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. He dedicated his career to helping others, serving as a social worker for the State of Kansas. Through his work, Fred touched countless lives with his compassion, patience, and commitment to serving those in need.
On April 7, 1992, Fred married Victoria Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fred found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved watching and feeding birds, a passion that was shared by many members of his family and became a special connection between generations. He was an animal lover. Those who knew him knew his dog, "Baby", which his children sometimes felt as if Baby came first. No cat was ever a stray to him, just another animal finding its way to their new home.
He was also an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the Kansas City Chiefs. His love for the team was evident to anyone who knew him, as he proudly maintained an entire room dedicated to Chiefs memorabilia and fandom.
Known for being exceptionally organized, Fred took pride in keeping everything neat and in its place. His attention to detail and Type A personality were simply part of who he was and became one of the many traits his family and friends affectionately remember.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mary Church; wife Victoria Church; son Adam Church; and sister Kay.
Fred is survived by his children Amy, Thomas, Fred, Anna, Tony, Daniel, and Rhonda; Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family and friends.
