Frances Hunt Scearce

Frances Irene Scearce, age 75, of Iola, Kansas, passed away September 6, 2023, at St. Francis Via Christi, Wichita, Kansas. Frances was born December 19, 1947, in Iola, Kansas, to Lewis A. Hunt and Vera (Thompson) Hunt, but was lovingly raised from birth to young adulthood by grandparents, James and Alice Gregg.

Frances graduated 1965 from Iola High School. She attended Clark's Business College in Topeka. Frances worked in area banks as a bookkeeper.

Frances and Charles Scearce were married in Miami, Oklahoma. He passed in 1986.

Frances was a good person with a kind heart. She loved her nephews, niece, and dogs. She and Paul Zirjacks were in a loving relationship for nine years and they enjoyed traveling together.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her niece, Lisa Michelle Byers.

Frances is survived by sister, Mary Lou (Mike) Byers, Iola, Kansas; nephew, Michael W. (Michelle) Byers, Crofton, Maryland; great-nephews, Stephen Byers, Matthew Byers, Crofton, Maryland; and great-niece, Sarah Byers, Crofton, Maryland.

Cremation will take place. Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas.
