Evelyn Maloney

In loving memory of Evelyn Marie Maloney

Evelyn was born on August 4th, 1943 to Floyd Ronald and Irene (Schmidt) Jantz in Syracuse, Kansas. They later moved to Gas, Kansas. Evelyn graduated from Iola High School in 1961. On July 24, 1961, she married Raymond Dale Maloney. Together, they raised three kids; Raymond Dean, Corinna (Heard), and Symanthia (Sprague) Alford. Evelyn and her husband made their home in LaHarpe, Kansas.

Evelyn was a homemaker and loved piecing together and embroidering quilts, doing yard work, and playing with her grandchildren. In the 1970's, she taught and coached girls' softball in LaHarpe for many years. She would say these were the "happiest moments in her life."

Evelyn is survived by her first husband, Raymond Dale Maloney; son, Raymond Dean Maloney of LaHarpe; daughter, Symanthia (Sprague) Alford and husband Robert of Gas; son-in-law, Michael Sprague of Humboldt; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Maloney of LaHarpe; grandchildren, Adrienne and Nathan Sprague of Gas, Justin Heard of Iola, Michael (Tish) Maloney, Katie Maloney and Shawn, and Savannah (Levi) Flory; great-grandkids, Kylee, Jordan, and Ethan Maloney, and LeAnna, Jayde, and Hazel Flory, all of LaHarpe; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl and Janice Maloney of Fort Scott; sister, Lorena Leake and husband Scott of Iola; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenny; sister, Linda; and daughter, Corinna.

Graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Fees Park in Gas, and may be left in the care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Condolences for the family may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
