Dudley R. Feuerborn, age 84, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Parkview Heights in Garnett.
Dudley was born on June 8, 1941, in Garnett, the son of Reuben H. and Marie (Setter) Feuerborn. He grew up in Garnett and graduated from Garnett High School. He attended Allen County, Ottawa University, and Emporia State University before receiving his Certificate of Mortuary Science from the University of Kansas in 1969. In 1961, Dudley was united in marriage to Carol Ann Tilton. They were blessed with four children and divorced after 24 years of marriage..
Dudley dedicated his life to funeral service and community leadership. He followed in his father and mother's footsteps when he began working for the Farris family. In 1975, he purchased the Farris Funeral Home and operated it as Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapels in Garnett and Colony. In 2005 the Moran, Kansas location was purchased and the name changed to Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. He served on the board and as President of the Kansas Funeral Director's Association. He served as an Anderson County Commissioner for 24 years and was a Past President of the Kansas Association of Counties. Dudley also farmed in partnership with his brother, Bill, for 35 years. His catholic faith was a constant in his life, he was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scipio. Outside of church he also attended daily 6am coffee and weekly card nights. In his free time he enjoyed various motorcycle excursions, RV trips and KU basketball games.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben (August 16, 1956) and Marie Feuerborn (July 6, 1971); one sister, Jane T. Feuerborn; and one great-grandson, Kason Davis.
Dudley is survived by his four children, Deanna Wolken and husband Tom, Debra Davis and husband Doug, Dana Spencer and husband Michael, and Reuben Feuerborn and wife Moria. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Emily DeVall and husband Brandon, Katelyn Schroeder and husband Mitch, Derek Davis and wife Jordan, Brandon Davis, Cody Davis and wife Lacie, Cori (Byrd) and husband Derek Lowe, Benjamin Spencer and wife Sydney, Nicholas Spencer, Madeline Spencer, and Payton, Alexis, and Tyler Feuerborn; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Jersey and Berkley DeVall, Bristol and Copelan Davis, Cayden, Rylie, and Laramie Davis, Bowe and Brynn Davis, Raelynn and Emersyn Spencer, and Banks and Mack Schroeder. Other survivors include his sister, Lucille Holderman and husband Richard and brother, Bill Feuerborn and wife Lynda; and one nephew and four nieces .
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery in Garnett. Rosary will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scipio, Kansas, followed by visitation from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in the Carmel Hall (north of the church). The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Boniface Church or Holy Angels Cemetery, and they may be left in care of the funeral home.
