Duane Ramsey

Duane T. Ramsey, age 85, of Colony, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas.

Duane was born on June 18, 1941, in Garnett, Kansas, to Dwight T. and Ardella Boysen Ramsey. He graduated from Kincaid High School in 1959 and went on to receive a AA degree from Iola Junior College in Iola, Kansas. Duane began his working career at the Garnett Church Furniture Factory, where he worked for 13 years, before going to work at Haldex Brake in Iola. He remained there for more than 20 years. Duane also proudly served 23 years in the Army National Guard.

On June 28, 1964, Duane married Betty Jones, whom he met while attending Iola Junior College. They shared 62 years of marriage and were blessed with two sons, Doug of Colony, Kansas, and Dana of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. Duane was also a proud grandfather to Christian Brook Ramsey of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and step-grandson, Colby Merrett of Yulee, Florida.

Duane enjoyed many of the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs fan, especially when the teams were winning. He looked forward to attending the Kincaid Alumni Banquet and Kincaid Fair whenever possible, keeping him connected to the community and people he knew throughout his life. Duane also enjoyed attending auctions, always keeping an eye out for a good bargain.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Colony Cemetery in Colony, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Colony First Responders and left in care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
