Donald Heath

Donald Gene Heath, Sr., age 87, of Iola, Kansas, passed away September 13, 2025, at the Coffey County Hospital, Burlington, Kansas. Don was born August 9, 1938, in Iola, Kansas, to Hilbert Heath and Ruth (Beaty) Jeanmonod.

Don graduated from Iola High School, Iola, Kansas. He started working on farms at the age of 14. In his adult life he was mostly self-employed in carpentry and maintenance. Don made a business doing crafts from wood and making trivets.

Don enjoyed fishing and listening to music, both helped him relax.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Janis Kay Heath, Ruth Lamb; one son, Donald Heath, Jr.; and three granddaughters.

Don is survived by two daughters, Debora (Phillip) Wertz, Sharon (Delano) Hadden; one sister, Luetta Heimberg; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, Iola, Kansas. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas.
