Dixie Oletta Rees, age 94, formerly of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away October 4, 2025, at Vintage Park Assisted Living, Gardner, Kansas. Dixie was born February 28, 1931, in Metalton, Arkansas, to Marion E. Clark and Belle Z. (Grubbs) Clark.
Dixie and William (Bill) Daniels were married in July, 1951, and later divorced. She and Howard Dwayne Rees were married November 19, 1983, in Overland Park, Kansas. Dwayne preceded her in death in 2020.
Dixie worked in the garment industry for Gay Gibson Dresses and Gear For Sports. After she retired, her favorite job was being the breakfast attendant at Days Inn, Olathe, Kansas.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Reva McCully; brothers, Doyal, Paul, Mose, Jay; and special nieces, Maribelle Towslee, Hazel Wadel.
Dixie is survived by daughters, Terry (Chris) Butts, Olathe, Kansas, Betty (Mike) Vandiviere-Valley, Springfield, Ohio; grandsons, Tyler (Mary) Butts, Olathe, Kansas, Bryan (Angie) Vandiviere, Harrodsburg, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Hallie Grace Butts, Daylan (Maddie) and Zachary Vandiviere, Kayln and Adalyn Lawson, and Gavin Kendrick; special niece, Monabeth (Doug) Milliron; and special nephew, JD (Amy) Wadel.
A visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas 66749.
