David Allan Marple

David Allan Marple, age 82, of Iola, Kansas, passed away May 27, 2025, at Heritage Health Care, Chanute, Kansas. David was born November 3, 1942, in Moran, Kansas, to Roy Marple and Violet (Armantrout) Marple.

David graduated in 1962 from Iola High School. He joined the United States Army and served his country in Vietnam.

David lived at Heritage Health Care since 2018, where he met many new friends, but was able to spend those last years with his best friend, George Wolverton.

David spent time helping and volunteering at the Iola Senior Center. He loved watching the Royals and Chiefs play ball.

David was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marilyn Payne, Jim Marple, Patricia Robb, Loren Marple; and an infant sibling.

David is survived by siblings, Jake (Peggy) Marple, Carol Krull, Gerald (Delia) Marple, Larry (Frann) Marple; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Burial with military honors will follow in the Legion Section of Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Iola Senior Center, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
