Dana Delynn Peters

Dana DeLynn Peters, 54, died April 23, 2026, in Humboldt, Kansas,surrounded by family after a relentless and very hard fight against cancer.

She was born June 20, 1971, in Chanute, Kansas, to Darrell D. and Shirley J. (Schooley) Peters. Dana loved life. She spent much of her time either working or spoiling the many children that called her "Aunt Dana". She also enjoyed spending time with her closest friends, and of course her family. Whether working a second job or taking trips to the beach, she was always on the go, much of the time making sure everyone in her life was taken care of and putting herself last.

Dana started out her work life in her early teens babysitting. After that she became a well known worker and leader at the Humboldt Pizza Hut. B&W Truck beds next, during its early years. She then moved on to Hi-Lo Custom Cabinets where she worked in the office for many years. Dana then started working for the City of Humboldt as assistant city clerk. Many times having a second job in the evening, her last being Dollar General in Humboldt. She influenced and shaped many people in all her years of work. Always being a solid role model of how hard work, organization, and attention to detail are a crucial part of life.

Dana was preceded in death by her parents, nephew, Dylan Peters, and an aunt, Esther (Peggy) Riebel.

She is survived by her "adopted daughter" Lindsy (Danny) Hurt and their 3 children Eliot, Hunter, and Davis whom she loved and treated like her own grandchildren. Siblings, Daren (Sheila) Peters of Humboldt, Sabrina (Brendan Williams) Peters of Erie, and David (Lindsey) Peters of Andover, 11 nieces and nephews, 7 great-nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.

Over Dana's lifetime she touched many lives and will forever be cherished by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 HWY 54, Iola, Kansas. A Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. the night prior on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at The Venue, 1883 HWY 54, Iola, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, her wishes were to have donations made to Mount Hope Cemetery or Wings of Warriors, and left in the care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
