Chris Richards

Chris Lowell Richards, age 72, passed away in Overland Park, Kansas on June 16, 2025.

Chris was born on December 25, 1952, in Iola, Kansas to Kenneth and Evelyn (Ludlum) Richards. He was raised in Iola and attended local schools.

On April 5, 1974, Chris married Margaret "Marty" McCullough. They were blessed with three children; Candie, Jeff, and Nick. Chris worked at Gates Corporation for over 30 years, and later retired from Russell Stovers.

Chris loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and the Royals play, rarely missing a game. He was an amazing father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Chris was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Jerry Richards; and three half-siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Marty; children, Candie (Cayle) Ranabargar, Jeff (Kristy) Richards, and Nick Richards; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy (Steve) Smith, Donna (Jim) Sinclair, Debbie Anderes, Dennis Richards (Pam Honeycutt), Brenda (Greg) Riggs, and Missy (Tom) Reaves; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
