Charles Glen Snavely, age 73, passed away in Moran, Kansas on July 16, 2024.
Charles was born in Iola, Kansas on July 25, 1950, to Merle and Jeanette (Stranghoner) Snavely. He attended Allen County schools and graduated from Iola High School.
In 1986, Charles married Shirley Tidd and they made their home in rural Iola. He worked closely with his father-in-law baling and hauling hay, in addition to taking care of their cattle. Charles also loved gardening with Shirley and together they planted some of everything, including tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, and potatoes, to name a few. He and Shirley attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola, as well.
Later in life, Charles enjoyed the company of his pets. Even as he got older, he continued to raise cattle, and always liked when they came up to the pen every morning for feed. He cherished time spent with his two granddaughters.
Charles was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Shirley; brother, Don Snavely; sister, Marilyn Meservy; and father-in-law, Howard Tidd.
He is survived by two sons, Andrew Snavely and Mark (Lauren) Snavely; brothers, John (Judy) Snavely, Butch Snavely, and Joe Snavely; sisters, Nancy (Sam) Ruby and Ann (Ed) Born; granddaughters, Kloie and Charlee Snavely; mother-in-law, Lilly Tidd; and many other beloved family and friends.
