It is with profound sorrow, yet hearts full of gratitude and cherished memories, that we announce the passing of Charles Nolan Hutton Jr. ("Chuck"), age 70, of Iola, Kansas, who passed peacefully June 2, 2026, surrounded by his family. Known for his unwavering love, steadfast wisdom, clever wit, and twisted humor, he leaves behind a legacy that will echo in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Chuck was born on January 25, 1956, in Iola, Kansas, to Charles Nolan Hutton Sr. and Roberta Jean (Gumfory) Hutton. The oldest of three children, he carried a strong sense of responsibility and quiet leadership throughout his life. An honorable and principled man, Chuck stood firmly for what he believed was right and never wavered under pressure. His loyalty ran deep, and those fortunate enough to earn it knew they had a steadfast ally for life.
Much of Chuck's career was spent working in the oil industry alongside his family, a reflection of both his strong work ethic and devotion to those he loved. Later, he relocated and continued his career with Tunesco Well Services, where he worked until his retirement.
Chuck was, at heart, a deeply private and introspective man. An introvert by nature, he found joy in simple pleasures-losing himself in a good book, listening to music (especially the classic rock of his youth), and enjoying quiet moments of reflection. Yet despite his reserved nature, those close to him knew him as someone who loved humor and was always ready with a well-timed joke or clever remark. His sharp intelligence and wit made even ordinary moments memorable.
Above all, Chuck loved his family fiercely. He was the proud father of two daughters, Jaime Robinson (Irv) of Iola, Kansas, and Jennifer Snook (Landon) of Jefferson City, Missouri. He was a devoted husband to the late Marsha Ann (Benso) Hutton for 27 years; the two were united in marriage on March 30, 1999. Through this union, Chuck gained a son, Adam Pintar (Nilam) of Gaithersburg, Maryland.
As a father, Chuck guided his children with strength, humor, and unwavering support, instilling in them the values of integrity, resilience, and an appreciation for quick wit-often delivered through his signature teasing. As a grandfather, his love only grew deeper, taking immense pride in each of his grandchildren and treasuring the time spent with them.
Chuck is survived by his brother, Robert Hutton of Iola, Kansas; his sister, Ramona Hermreck (Jerry) of Richmond, Kansas; his daughters, Jaime Robinson (Irv) and Jennifer Snook (Landon); his son, Adam Pintar (Nilam); and his eight grandchildren: Rylee Knavel, Caden Knavel, Wyatt Brant, Steven Robinson, Victoria Robinson, Wesson Robinson, Amita Pintar, and Kishan Pintar. Each will carry forward his lessons, his humor, and his enduring spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Roberta Hutton; his sister-in-law, Jackie Hutton; and his beloved wife, Marsha.
A celebration of Chuck's life will be held on June 12, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Home, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas, where family and friends will gather to remember him, share stories, laugh together, and perhaps collectively groan at a few more tales of his legendary humor. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Iola Public Library, in honor of a life lived with heart, integrity, humor, and a lifelong love of reading.
Though he leaves behind a space that can never be filled, Chuck's humor, guidance, and love remain constant reminders that while life is fleeting, laughter, loyalty, and a father's wisdom endure. He will be missed beyond measure, remembered with deep affection, and forever treasured by those who knew and loved him.
Condolences for the family may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
