Carol Hunsperger

Carol M. Hunsperger passed away, on April 13, 2024, with a family friend by her side, at Residential Living Center, in Garnett, Kansas.

Carol was born on October 1, 1938, in Moran, Kansas, to Wayne and Jean Thompson. She attended school in Kincaid, graduating from Kincaid High School. Carol had a caring heart and went on to get her CMA.

Carol was united in marriage to Thomas Lester Nichol Jr. on September 14, 1957. This union was blessed with three children. Carol later married Owen Francis Hunsperger on October 14, 1970. This union was blessed with one child.

With Carol's passion to care for people, she began her career as a Psych Aide at the Osawatomie State Hospital. She later went to get her CNA, where she worked at Anderson County Long Term Care and other various nursing homes.

In her free time, she loved to enjoy nature, taking walks and being out in her garden. She had a passion for crocheting, creating blankets for her family. Family was her everything.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edith Correa; daughter, Carla Kosier; two grandsons, Quincy Olds, and Roland Carber.

She is survived by, siblings, Brian Thompson, Pomona, Kansas, Butch and Twila of Douglas, Kansas, Wayman and Grace of Kincaid, Kansas; children, Thomas Lester Nichol III of Ottawa, Kansas, Charles Wayne Nichol of Moran, Kansas, Jean Marie Carber and Moose of Dewitt, Iowa; son-in-law, Jim Kosier of Moran, Kansas; grandchildren, Richard and Ashley Carber, Amanda Carber, Shaunna Carber, Alexis Olds and Jeremy Finch, Christopher Olds, great- grandchildren, Trenton, Dejah, Riley, Alistair, Kenneth, Anthony, Xander, Dale, Quincy; numerous other family members.

Funeral services will take place at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett. Family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at 1:00 P.M.
