Carol Brown

Carol Brown 85, of Moberly, Missouri passed away on November 3, 2025. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 16, 1940, the daughter of Tandy Rhodes Quisenberry and Ethel Day.

Carol was united in marriage to Donald Cline in 1952. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri and eventually settled in Shawnee, Kansas in the home Donald built himself. In the 1970's Carol was involved politics and was the first woman elected on the Shawnee City Council. Her campaign slogan was "I CARE". After serving her community she returned to school and is a graduate of Mid America Nazarene University located in Olathe, Kansas. Carol was a woman of deep faith and boundless compassion. Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her in all she did and inspiring those who knew her. She dedicated many years of service to The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities and the Community Kitchen in Moberly.

Her kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Carol will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to God, her selfless spirit, and the love she shared with her family, friends, and community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tandy and Ethel; her sister, Betty Gerlt; and her two children, Don and Mary. Carol is survived by her siblings, Wilma Kennedy and Linda Sue Pittensburger; her daughter, Janice Geyer of Maryville, Missouri; and her son, Wesley C. Cline (Linda) of Independence, Missouri. She is also lovingly remembered by five grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

A scripture service and Celebration of Life will be held November 11, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Community Kitchen, 411 West Reed, Moberly MO 65270.
