Carl Turner, age 61, of Iola, Kansas, passed away on October 1, 2025, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
Carl was born a twin on September 2, 1964, in Iola, Kansas, to Floyd C. and Francis L. Turner. From a young age, Carl demonstrated a strong work ethic and a passion for hands-on work. He began his working career at the age of 14 with Columbia Windows, where he remained for several years. Carl later moved to Great Bend, Kansas, where he worked as a truck driver before returning home to Iola. He continued his career driving for Whitaker as a rock hauler until his health no longer allowed.
A self-taught truck driver and natural mechanic, Carl enjoyed working on small engines and fixing whatever he could with his skilled hands. He loved the outdoors-especially fishing and hunting for morel mushrooms with his brother Charlie, turning even the simplest activities into fun and lighthearted competitions.
Carl found joy in listening to loud rock music, going on country cruises, capturing the beauty of nature through photography, and spending time with friends and family. Carl was full of fun and life, he had a unique sense of humor and was known for his teasing and playful spirit. He was deeply close to his siblings and shared a special bond with many dear friends throughout his life.
Carl will be remembered as a hardworking, generous, and kind-hearted man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His simple, genuine approach to life and his enduring love for those around him leave behind lasting memories for all who knew him.
