Candy Fletcher

February 10, 1956 — December 23, 2023

Candice "Candy" Annice Fletcher, age 67, passed away on December 23, 2023, at the Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas, surrounded by the staff that had become her companions.

Candy was born on February 10, 1956, in Kansas City, Kansas, to John D. Mahan and Joan L. (Schowengerdt) Mahan. She grew up in the Kansas City area. After high school, she attended some college, where she flourished socially and started her career in sales.

Candy had one daughter, Tiffany, from a previous marriage while she was in Kansas City. Tiffany has a son Matthew. Candy focused on her career and eventually met the love of her life, James "J.T." Fletcher, and his three children, Clinton, Jenna, and Shannon. Their families were united when Candy and J.T. married on October 22, 1991 in Miami, Oklahoma. Together, they made their home in Moran, Kansas.

Candy was a social butterfly. She enjoyed conversation and loved people, especially her grandchildren. Candy's favorite hobbies were fishing, camping, baking, specifically her beloved monkey bread. You could often find her listening to a wide range of music, including country and rock. She was a self described "Chiefs Superfan", you could count on Candy watching every game intently and then discussing the stats and plays over the following days and weeks. Candy was also a dog-mom, and loved all her pets dearly.

Candy is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jackie Mahan.

Candy is survived by her husband; sister, Rebecca (John) Adriano; children, Tiffany (Caleb) Brasil, Clinton Fletcher, Jenna (Justin) Sprague, Shannon (Matthew) Zoglmann; mother-in-law, Velary Iden; grandchildren, Kayleigh Fletcher, Cody Fletcher, Sam Sprague, and Myla, Noah, Jonah Zoglmann; and many other friends and relatives.
