Billy Frank Buck passed away at Allen County Regional Hospital April 19, 2026.

Billy was born on April 26, 1933 to Harris and Gayle Buck in Lake City, Kansas. He was an only child and went to elementary school in Lake City. The family moved to Garden City, Kansas, where he graduated from high school in 1951 and junior college in 1953. After graduating junior college, Bill joined the Army and served in San Antonio, Texas, as a corporal military police until 1955. While serving, he met and married Joan Kendrick, who was serving in the Air Force as Airman 2nd Class. They were married in July 1954. They moved back to Garden City where Billy farmed until 1959, when they moved to
Iola, Kansas.

Billy had many interests which included playing his mandolin, hunting, fishing, dancing until the age of 89, working in his garden with flowers and tomatoes, and watching his kittens play. He worked in the oil fields and farmed until 1986 then went to work in construction and driving semis for
Beechner until 2020.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Gayle Buck; two grandchildren, Allen and Tasha Gayle Robb; and daughter in-law Brenda Buck.

Billy is survived by three children, Billy "Mike" Buck and partner Linda Larson of
Iola, Larry Alan Buck and wife Janet of Iola, and Terry Lee (Buck) Harris and husband Dan of Kincaid; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time, and memorials in Billy's honor may be made to A.C.A.R.F.
