Betty S. Owens

Betty Suzann Owens, age 74, of Iola, Kansas, passed away July 27, 2022, at Yates Center Health & Rehab, Yates Center, Kansas. Betty was born June 22, 1948, in Iola, Kansas, to Charles H. Wiedemann and Geraldine I. (Osborn) Wiedemann.

Betty graduated from Iola High School and Allen County Community College. Betty worked as a para-professional in education for USD # 257.

Betty attended Waypoint Church in Iola. She loved the Lord with all her heart and genuinely loved people in a Christ-like manner. She was always one of the first to arrive at church ready to help with anything she could. She would bring news clippings of how she saw the Lord working in the world or something we might be able to contribute to help as a church. She didn't want to miss a Bible study, activity, event or dinner we had. Bad weather and illness are the only things that kept her from going.

Betty loved her little dog, Rosie. She was known as a hard worker.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Betty Wiedemann; brothers, Robert Perry and Ron Wiedemann.

Betty is survived by brothers, Mike Perry, Paul (Tonie) Wiedemann, Mark (Tracy) Wiedemann; a nephew who was like a brother, Lyndsey (Jennifer) Perry; half-sister, Kim Romig; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service to honor Betty's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF), and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
