William Charles "Bill" Deckinger, age 82, of Hartford, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at The University of Kansas St. Francis Campus Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Bill was the first of four children born to William J. and Helen (Iwig) Deckinger. He was born on September 3, 1937, in Kansas City, Missouri. He lived with his parents, including the time they spent in Japan, until making his home in Ottawa, Topeka, and then Hartford, Kansas. Bill was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and one nephew, Randy Karrle.
He is survived by his two sisters, Carol Karrle and husband, Mel of Tuscon, Arizona and Nancy Suter and husband, Dennis of Pahrump, Nevada; brother, Gary Deckinger and wife, Cindy of Green Valley, Arizona.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Iola, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Iola. Memorials are suggested to Kansas Special Olympics and may be left with the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com .
