William Earl (Bill) Beasley

William Earl (Bill) Beasley, age 71, of LaHarpe, Kansas, passed away September 15, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. Bill was born September 25, 1950, in San Francisco, California, to Perry Milton (Jack) Beasley and Alice E. (Nigus) Beasley.

Bill enlisted in the United States Army at the age of seventeen. He served his country in Virginia, Colorado, Germany, Vietnam, and Okinawa. Bill earned the rank of Sergeant and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Bill was honorably discharged in May, 1972.

Bill and Barbara J. Pollet were married October 20, 1969, in Iola, Kansas. After his marriage to Barbara and the birth of his two sons, Bill continued his education at Pittsburg State University, majoring in psychology.

Bill worked as an electrician for many years. He did a lot of wiring for the Iola Schools throughout his years as an electrician. Bill worked for the city of LaHarpe for several years. He retired from Russell Stover Candies.

Bill enjoyed fishing and he also enjoyed playing his guitar at Harvest Baptist Church in Iola, where he was a faithful member for over twenty years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Herb Hanssen; siblings, Harold Turner, Jack Turner, Larry Turner, Ronald Beasley, Sr., Rose Stokes, and Carol VanDam.

Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; sons, Jeremy (Tiffany) Beasley, Park Rapids, Minnesota, Chad (Chelsey) Beasley, rural Iola, Kansas; grandchildren, Jessica (Mariano) Beasley Ramirez, Moorhead, Minnesota, Kendall (Michael) Anderson, Menahga, Minnesota, Austin (Kolby) Hammer, Iola, Kansas, Tianna (Paul) Douglas, Frontenac, Kansas, Kanyon (Hevan) Beasley, Iola, Kansas, Pierce (Zoey) Beasley, LaHarpe, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Jimmie, Violet, Roger, Ayvia, Dakota, River, Jasper, Caiden, Sebastian; and sister, Edna Green, Desoto, Kansas.

A funeral service to honor Bill's life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in the chapel at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. Burial with military honors will follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, Kansas.
