Sydney Hal Koon, age 83, of Iola, Kansas, passed away February 7, 2021, at his residence. Sydney was born October 31, 1937, in Ferndale, Arkansas, to Henry Koon and Virgie (Grimmett) Koon.
Sydney graduated in 1955 from Paron High School, Paron, Arkansas. He served in the United States Air Force as a supply clerk, retiring after 20 years.
Sydney enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.
Sydney was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter, Muncie, Jim, Dale, Jake; and sisters, Nina, Ruby, Olie Mae, Hazel.
Sydney is survived by sisters, Almeda Fairhurst, Dollie Kling, Marion Cross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sydney was cremated. He will be inurned in the National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas. There will be no services.
