Roy A. Hermreck

Roy A. Hermreck, age 91, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Anderson County Hospital, Garnett.

He was born April 23, 1930, in Franklin County, Kansas, the second of the oldest to John and Olive (Rockers) Hermreck.

Roy attended school for eight years at the Junction School House, then went to work helping his dad on the farm baling hay in the summer, chopping wood in the winter.

Roy loved dancing. At a dance in Greeley, he met Katherine Landwehr. On October 18, 1954, they were married, this union was blessed with four children, Leon Hermreck (Donna), Neil Hermreck, Keith Hermreck (Pat), all of Garnett, and Kathy Croucher (Mike) of Westphalia, Kansas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one brother, Gene Hermreck of Garnett, Kansas; and one sister, Betty Zigelhofer (Ralph) of Deerfield, Kansas.

He continued to farm and milked cows, always running International Farmall tractors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Hermreck; parents, John and Olive Hermreck; one sister, Louann Maley; two brothers, Floyd and Bob Hermreck; and one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hermreck.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Scipio, with inurnment to follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery. A rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the church with family greeting friends following.
