Jacquelyn Cox McFadden

Jacquelyn Irene McFadden, age 96, of Iola, Kansas, passed away May 24, 2023, at Medicalodges of Iola, Iola, Kansas. Jackie was born February 7, 1927, in Moran, Kansas, to Roy W. Cox and Irene E. (Swanson) Cox, and she was the youngest of five children.

Jackie graduated in 1945 from Iola High School. In 1949 she received a bachelor of science degree from Kansas State University. She taught home economics for several years.

Jackie loved being a homemaker and raising her four children with her husband, Jim McFadden. She and Jim later divorced and he preceded her in death.

Jackie was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was very active until her later years. She enjoyed playing bridge, attending the Bowlus Fine Arts Center, and going on trips with friends.

Jackie took great pride in her eleven grandchildren. Each enjoyed going to Grandma Jackie's house. They could hardly get their hellos and hugs out of the way before emptying the closet full of toys she had for them.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Royal Cox; and sisters, Claire Detter, Joyce Schaulis, Jane Ball.

Jackie is survived by her children, Jayme (John) Donaldson, Kirk (Brenda) McFadden, Jack McFadden, April Thomas; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas, with inurnment following.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church and may be left in the care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.
